The 'Gay Games' Are a Flop; Call Sponsors Today
"Love & Truth" Speakers Today!

Dear IFI Readers,
We all hear a lot of bad news; here's some good news: the Homosexuality ("Gay") Games in Chicago are shaping up to be a colossal flop.
Nobody is coming to watch them, according to news reports.
Only the liberal Chicago media, smitten by all things homosexual, could have failed to predict this. In fact, their continued hyping of the Gay Games--worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in free publicity--only makes the "Games'" anemic attendance that much more telling.
Think about it: nobody who's not a participant or a homosexual, or a friend or family member of a participant, wants to pay money to see "gay" athletes at the "Gaymes," as they are being called.
It's hard enough to sell tickets to the real Olympics, much less an athletic competition for homosexuals in the middle of the hot summer--with the competing "Outgames" athletic competition for homosexuals in Montreal coming up July 26-August 5.
The Chicago Sun Times, an official sponsor of the "Gay Games"--shame on them--reported that only 30,000 people attended the opening "Games" ceremonies at Soldier Field last Saturday night. But that figure includes the athletes, who had to pay just like everyone else! Based on the Games' estimate of 9,000 athletes, that means this homosexual celebration attracted only 21,000 spectators for its most important debut ceremony.
This number is confirmed by the fact that, according to a WBBM Radio story (see below), "Gay Games" organizers are now hoping for only 20,000 people to attend their final ceremony this Saturday at Wrigley Field. (I think this number also includes athletes.)
Ads Saturated the Airwaves Now keep in mind that the Homosexuality Games achieved these underwhelming numbers after saturating the Chicagoland area with radio and TV ads, and after receiving an enthusiastic welcome from Mayor Daley, not to mention all that free media hype.
I personally heard or saw at least 10 Gay Games ads leading up to the event. Who knows how much money the "Gaymes'" organizers spent on commercials--ads that are troubling because they desensitize children (and the rest of society) to the dangers and depravity of homosexual behavior.
Homosexual practice is a sin--analogous in the Bible to incest, according to our excellent "Love & Truth Campaign" guest lecturer, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary Professor Robert Gagnon, yet thanks to the homosexual lobby and the media, it is marketed innocuously as "gay." (Gagnon noted how it's interesting that we never hear people being called "Incestphobes.")
Corporate 'diversity' pandering It now appears that the only way these "Gaymes" are going to stay in the black (escaping the fate of previous Gay Games, which were financial disasters) is through the large number of (mainstream) corporate donors. Kraft, Walgreen's, Harris Bank, Gatorade, NBC5, Best Buy and other companies helped make these overbilled "Gay Games" possible. Pro-homosexual "diversity" has become a big business, and homosexual activists are poised to become America's new shakedown artists who will shame the Sexually Incorrect into giving--with the threat of harassing lawsuits or a PR campaign blasting them as "INTOLERANT."Yes, corporate America is the the new financier of organized homosexuality in America, even if it means throwing its shareholders' money down the lavender drain, as it were. Christians and pro-family citizens must get engaged and tell these corporations to get out of the "gay" propaganda business--and to stop undermining their own employees' values--through one-sided "diversity" workshops that leave Christians and religious people feeling morally and spiritually raped.Lest you despair, here's more good news: the homosexual lobby's support is a mile wide but an inch deep. Regular people like you and me don't want to celebrate homosexuality--unlike the media and corporate diversity types, who insist on falsely equating it to civil rights. So let's get to work reclaiming healthy moral values in our state and our nation!
Here is some contact information for a few of the major corporate sponsors of the "Gay Games" (a full list of "Gay Games" sponsors can be found HERE): NBC5 (WMAQ-TV, Chicago) (Larry Wert, President & General Manager); Main Number: (312) 836-5555; larry.wert@nbc.com
[There is simply no excuse for a media company that claims to be impartial to financially sponsor an event as controversial as the "Gay Games."]

Gay Games Struggling To Woo Spectators
Bob Roberts Reporting CHICAGO (WBBM Radio) -- Aside from a few popular events, Gay Games VII has struggled to woo spectators so far this week.
WBBM Newsradio 780's Bob Roberts reports some Gay Games veterans say the Chicago games has suffered because contests are spread out so far across the city.
But Gay Games organizers are taking issue with those who say the venues are too spread out -- and so are some of the athletes.
Gay Games co-vice chair Kevin Boyer admits he has heard the complaints, but said he has heard far more compliments. He said those who have had experience at a number of international events, previous Gay Games or Olympic Games know that it's impossible to put everything into one compact area.
"In Sydney, for example, there were some venues that were much further away than the venues we have here," he said.
Swimmer Sean Frampton said at the Sydney Gay Games, the distance from housing to venues made it impossible to see other sports. Here, he said, he has been able to see martial arts, ballroom dancing, volleyball and other events.
"That's really neat that they're close enough that you can pop in, even it's just to see only five minutes," he said.
Powerlifting champion Chris Morgan agreed, saying he loves Chicago as a venue, and said it has had a "beautiful vibe" all week.
Morgan is a world champion and noted that Chicago is seeking the 2016 Olympics.
Boyer said organizers tried to group the sports into "villages" in which similar competitions focused on one area. He said he believes it has been largely a success.
"If you are on the South Side and you are watching golf in Jackson Park and you need to go to (Northwestern University) Welsh-Ryan (Arena, in Evanston) to watch physique, that is a bit of a hike," he said. "But in general, at any Olympics or any Gay Games, the sports are in locations where it makes sense for them to be."
Boyer said the Gay Games Organizing Committee has kept track of attendance only at those events at which attendance is charged, and said each has met expectations.
He said Crystal Lake Police informed organizers that rowing events in drew more than 650 people. He said ticket sales continue for Saturday's 3 p.m. closing ceremonies at Wrigley Field, and said he currently is expecting more than 20,000 to attend.
Help IFI Stop the ACLU and Pro-Homosexual Left from Sinking Our Marriage Referendum
As you read this, activists affiliated with the ACLU, Gay Liberation Network, NOW and People for the American Way are working overtime to block our Marriage Protection Referendum from getting on the ballot in November. Please help IFI make a legal defense of this critical grassroots initiative!
Our legal defense will cost tens of thousands of dollars, but it is necessary to help stop the highly-organized and well-financed "Fair Illinois" coalition that is desperate to stop Illinois voters from having the opportunity to vote "YES" for the Referendum!
We need and greatly appreciate your financial help. Some can give $1,000, others $500, $100 or even just $25 or $10. We appreciate anything you can do to help defend marriage in Illinois!
If you believe in keeping marriage from being radically redefined by the ACLU and its pro-homosexual allies, please send your most generous contribution to Illinois Family Institute today. We are supported by voluntary donations from individuals like you across the state of Illinois. Donations to IFI are tax deductible.
