S-x Club Also Has Float

Not so proud Judy?

Faith in the closet
Gov. Blagojevich works the crowd at Sunday's bawdy "gay pride" parade in Chicago. It appears he has gotten quite good at keeping his Eastern Orthodox faith, which condemns homosexual practice, "in the closet."

Not pro-gay enough...
Sign says: "Judy Baar Topinka Says No to Domestic Partner Benefits: What's She Thinking?" Topinka criticized Blagojevich's DP plan, but only on financial grounds. She supports legal recognition of "civil unions."

Promiscuously proud
Men clad in a towel stand atop the float for the Chicago gay bathhouse "Steamworks" (see float's lead truck below). Apparently celebrating hyper-promiscuity and perversion are part of "gay pride." Steamworks and another sex club are official sponsors of the upcoming "Gay Games" in Chicago July 15-22.

No Shame

Media: unfair and unbalanced
NBC5's float was one of several media floats at the "Gay Pride" event. (NBC5 is also an official sponsor of the "Gay Games.") How can the Chicago media claim to be objective while participating in a parade that celebrates immoral sexual behavior?

Tolerance, anyone?

Dear IFI Readers,

Both Judy Baar Topinka (R) and Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) attended Sunday's "Gay Pride" parade in Chicago. I was on hand with Matt Barber of Americans for Truth to monitor the event, and we were not surprised to find the usual array of erotic floats and occasionally disgusting stunts.

The parade was certainly nothing to be proud of--as one Topinka staffer seemed to understand as he used his rainbow flag to try and block Matt from filming Topinka's float. The aide spotted either Barber (who used to work for the Jim Oberweis for Governor campaign) or myself, and then ran towards Barber, waving his rainbow flag in front of Barber's videocamera.

Gay Bathhouse Has Float
About 10 spots behind Topinka (and then Gov. Blagojevich's delegation) was a float for Steamworks, a 24/7 gay bathhouse in Chicago's "Boystown" neighborhood (see IFI press release below) which doubles as a "gym" and facilitates anonymous sex for gay men. Later there was lesbian float on which a two women simulated a (male) sex act, as the crowd cheered on.

Think about how far our society has fallen: Is there any other parade in which you can imagine such things being celebrated? And yet there were the politicians (including Attorney General Lisa Madigan) fielding floats while Chicago's men in blue were protecting the immoral homosexual procession. (At last year's parade--see IFI's 2005 photos HERE--an apparent lesbian cop in uniform was gyrating seductively on a float before the cheering onlookers, shaming not only herself but the entire Chicago PD.)

When men charged with defending the law are forced to celebrate alongside those breaking both man's law (decency codes) and God's moral law, it takes a chunk out of their soul. (Be forewarned that the following site contains sexual images not appropriate for children, but click HERE to see a website that shows using video some of the police-protected depravities at past Chicago "Pride" parades.)

Why aren't our public officials held accountable for appearing in a parade which, year after year, glorifies such excesses? You know why: because most of Chicago's major media (ABC-7, CBS-2, NBC-5, and WGN) march in the homosexual parade, too!

This is a stunning societal development: the media have decided for themselves that homosexuality is not wrong--and changeable--behavior, but an innocuous identity to be celebrated. Do you trust reporters--notoriously irreligious and left-leaning as a group, according to surveys--to be your arbiter of morality? I sure don't, and Sunday was further proof that they have ceased practicing journalism in favor of being liberal cultural cheerleaders.

By the way, plenty of children also attended Sunday's "pride" parade, showing another downside of organized homosexuality: the subjection of innocents to immoral and dangerous role modeling by adults. How sad for the kids, and how selfish of the "gay" adults.

One last point: the Christians who preached in Boystown after the parade fit the most stereotypical caricatures of fundamentalists that you could imagine (although at least they had the courage to show up). This is why IFI and others are supporting a more creative Gospel outreach at the upcoming "Gay Games" July 15-22. Please e-mail IFI or call Natalie at 630-790-8370 if you are interested in participating in this outreach.

God bless you.

P.S. When I lampooned the recent decision by Major League Baseball to force Chicago White Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen to undergo "gay" sensitivity training, I did not mean to imply that Guillen's vulgar language in blasting Chicago Sun-Times sports columnist Jay Mariotti was acceptable, or "manly." Of course, Guillen deserved to be chastised for his childish putdowns of Mariotti, which got him into this mess in the first place.

Candidate Topinka's Float Just Nine Spots Down from Chicago Sex Club in Today's Immoral 'Gay Pride' Parade Says IFI's LaBarbera

CHICAGO, June 25 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Judy Baar Topinka's float in today's Chicago "Gay Pride" parade is scheduled to be just nine spots ahead of a float sponsored by the homosexual bathhouse called Steamworks, said Illinois Family Institute Executive Director Peter LaBarbera.

LaBarbera and Matt Barber of the group Americans for Truth will be attending the homosexual "pride" parade today as critical observers, to document the goings-on for future use. (Past parades have featured public nudity and other illegal and obscene behavior, tolerated by the watching police.) The two men will be available for media comment, "for those reporters who still recognize that there are two sides to controversial moral issues," LaBarbera said.

"The media is treating this like any other parade, but what other parade would feature a float for a 'gym' (Steamworks) that doubles as a 24/7 sex club, where gay men go for anonymous sexual hook-ups with other men?" LaBarbera said. (Steamworks is also an official sponsor of the upcoming "Gay Games" in Chicago, as is another homosexual sex club, Man's Country.)

The Steamworks bathhouse is located at 3246 North Halsted Street in the heart of Chicago's "Boystown" neighborhood demarcating the city's homosexual community.

"No matter how many people attend today's 'gay pride' parade, or how many corporations support it, homosexual practice always will be wrong," LaBarbera said. Several major media companies such as WGN and the Chicago TV affiliates for ABC, NBC, CBS are fielding floats in the 'Pride' parade again this year. (NBC has also signed on as an official sponsor of the "Gay Games.")

Barber said: "It is surreal and Orwellian that cultural elites would embrace this pagan tribute to a sexual sin, and that the media, who are supposed to be impartial observers on divisive social issues, would join along in the celebration."

Help IFI Stop the ACLU and Pro-Homosexual Left from Sinking Our Marriage Referendum

As you read this, activists affiliated with the ACLU, Gay Liberation Network, NOW and People for the American Way are working overtime to block our Marriage Protection Referendum from getting on the ballot in November. Please help IFI make a legal defense of this critical grassroots initiative!

Our legal defense will cost tens of thousands of dollars, but it is necessary to help stop the highly-organized and well-financed "Fair Illinois" coalition that is desperate to stop Illinois voters from having the opportunity to vote "YES" for the Referendum!

We need and greatly appreciate your financial help. Some can give $1,000, others $500, $100 or even just $25 or $10. We appreciate anything you can do to help defend marriage in Illinois!

If you believe in keeping marriage from being radically redefined by the ACLU and its pro-homosexual allies, please send your most generous contribution to Illinois Family Institute today. We are supported by voluntary donations from individuals like you across the state of Illinois. Donations to IFI are tax deductible.
