CHICAGO--The Chicago media became a part of "gay pride" in Chicago yesterday, violating all the rules of impartiality in covering controversial issues.

Illinois Family Institute Executive Director Peter LaBarbera announced his availability yesterday to the media to provide another viewpoint of Sunday's homosexual "Pride Parade."

No media called for another viewpoint, and the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times both included only homosexuality-affirming voices in their stories. (We heard that one news station mentioned IFI's opposition.)

"Homosexual behavior will always be wrong--no matter how many 'pride' parades are held or how powerful the 'gay' lobby becomes," LaBarbera said. "It is wrong for Mayor Richard M. Daley and the corporate world to celebrate sinful and changeable behavior that is often very unhealthy, as evidenced by the lives of thousands of homosexual men that have been cut short due to this high-risk lifestyle."

"As a Catholic, Daley is engaged in deep hypocrisy as he panders to a movement based on sexual misconduct condemned by his own Church," he said. "The silent majority of Chicago citizens is offended by this annual celebration of homosexuality and other perverse behaviors (e.g., sadomasochism and gender confusion) in city streets."

IFI will be on hand in Chicago as an observer of today's parade. As an observer of last year's "gay pride" parade, LaBarbera witnessed two men engaging in an obscene sex act directly in front of a row of policemen, who stood by and did nothing as the men violated Chicago's public indecency laws.

IFI has criticized the mainstream Chicago media's participation in the annual homosexual parade. (Click HERE for our article on WGN's defense of participating in "gay pride.") Last year, several media corporations including ABC-7, CBS-2 and WGN fielded floats in the erotically-charged parade.
