Judy Baar Topinka
Illinois State Treasurer

Log Cabin Republicans, a national political organization with local chapters, is an activist group that works for the acceptance of homosexuality within the Republican Party.

The Illinois chapter, Log Cabin Republicans Chicago, recently received a solicitation of support from Judy Baar Topinka (the current Illinois Treasurer and former Republican Chairman).

This really isn't a surprise, the socially liberal Topinka has been very visible in the homosexual community, marching in "Gay Pride" parades, attending Equality Illinois' (Illinois' leading homosexual lobby group) fundraisers, helping to secure loans for the homosexual community Center on Halsted in Chicago, and speaking at homosexual rallies.

According to a 2002 Windy City Media interview with Equality Illinois lobbyist Rick Garcia, Treasurer Topinka "has a lot of openly gay and lesbian staff," and for Gracia, that gives him a "comfort level, knowing that our folks are inside."

Pasted here below is the email sent out from Chicago's Log Cabin Republicans (emphasis added):
Log Cabin Republicans Chicago Members and Supporters,

I recently received a call from Judy Baar Topinka requesting the support of Log Cabin Republicans Chicago for her upcoming campaign. Judy also told me that she is considering running for Governor to provide leadership in light of the many failed policies of Governor Blagojevich's administration.

Judy said that she has always appreciated the Log Cabin Republicans Chicago support in the past and would appreciate any support we can offer her campaign. Judy reiterated the importance of having Log Cabin and the LGBT community at the table during her upcoming campaign.

The Board of the Chicago Chapter made a decision to bundle checks for Judy's Campaign Fund. The local chapter is setting an aggressive goal to raise $5000 of which we have received commitments for close to $1000 as of this time.

If you can make a contribution towards our goal this would be appreciated to show Judy that the Log Cabin Republicans Chicago stand by her long-time support of our organization. We are requesting $100 donation per individual or $150 per couple, of course many members and supporters have committed to larger donations which are very much appreciated.

In acknowledgment of your donation you will receive an invitation to a special Thank You Reception to be hosted by Ed Fong, a long-time member of the Log Cabin Republicans Chicago, on Saturday, June 18. There will also be a limited number of complementary tickets available to donors based on donation amount to Judy's exclusive Annual Summer Soiree Event at Galleria Marchetti on June 9.

Due to the very limited amount of time to collect checks, please make checks payable to Citizens For Judy Baar Topinka and mail to:

Patrick Ross
President, Chicago chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans
Background on Log Cagin Republicans
While Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) advocates some conservative principles such as lower taxes, a strong defense (weakened by their support for homosexuality in the military), and free markets, they take the conservative value of individual liberty to levels of licentiousness (anything goes) and promote Big Brother government through "hate crimes" (thought crimes) and "sexual orientation" legislation.

Politically, the Log Cabins have put their support for homosexuality above their support for Republicans--even failing to endorse President Bush leading up to his run for reelection, due to his support for a constitutional amendment protecting marriage.

LCR--like all other homosexual activist groups--crusades for "anti-discrimination" laws based on the sexual behavior of a few. These laws violate the religious freedom of the majority of Americans who wish to oppose homosexual behavior because it violates their religious and moral conscience.

Log Cabin Opposes Bush Judges
The Log Cabin Republican's slogan is "Inclusion Wins!" So they claim. Yet they have sent out two e-mails in the last two weeks telling their members to activly oppose Republican President George W. Bush's nomination of Judge William Pryor due to his alleged anti-"gay" views. Pryor has been praised by Dr. Joe Reed, chairman of the Alabama Democratic Conference and Congressman Arthur Davis, a black Democrat.

If high-profile Democrats can support Pryor's nomination, why can't so-called Republican groups? Could it be that Pryor's logic is too sound? After all Pryor--in speaking critically of the idea that homosexual behavior (sodomy) is constitutional protected--is on record saying the "constitutional right that protects 'the choice of one's partner' and 'whether and how to connect sexually' must logically extend to activities like prostitution, adultery, necrophilia, bestiality, possession of child pornography, and even incest and pedophilia."

Pryor is right. If "sexual orientation" is a "civil right" as the homosexual lobby argues, then we had better be prepared to extend offical government civil rights protection to all 20+ "sexual orientations" recognized by the American Psychiatric Association--most of which are still considered to be mental disorders, like homosexuality was until 1973.

Did you know that the ACLU is already defending people whose "orientation" is polygamous "unions"?

Elitists for Topinka
Like Judy Baar Topinka, Log Cabin Republicans are exclusively elitists, not inclusively tolerant. Log Cabin Republicans are not primarily interested in supporting Republican principles, especially the Party's support for traditional family values and marriage. Instead, they seek to promote the normalization of homosexuality, and to use the law to force America to accept it.

And Topinka is all too happy to help.
