8/22/2006 6:15:00 PM By Illinois Family Institute
GLEN ELLYN, Illinois--Illinois Family Institute Executive Director David Smith announced today the appointment of Deerfield family advocate Lora Sue Hauser as the IFI School Issues Advisor.
In her new position, Hauser, founder of the Deerfield-based group North Shore Student Advocacy, said she plans to "advise, advocate, assist, educate, and encourage students and families who encounter a First Amendment, moral, or curricular problem in their public school."
Smith congratulated Hauser on being the first person to take on the new school position: "Anyone who has worked with Lora Sue knows how serious and committed she is to protecting students who run afoul of secular political correctness in Illinois schools.
"Lora Sue is a seasoned Christian who has already achieved major success through her networking and advocacy in the Deerfield area," he said. "We are honored and blessed to have her on board at IFI, where her considerable talents will be used to benefit and assist students across the whole state."

Mrs. Lora Sue Hauser IFI School Advisor 799 Roosevelt Rd., Suite 3-208 Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137 Peter LaBarbera, IFI's Policy & Media Advisor, urged parents and students to contact Lora Sue if they feel they have been discriminated against, or if their moral or religious beliefs have been undermined by liberal educators.
"Parents in Illinois and victimized students now have a bold advocate to turn to in Lora Sue Hauser--someone who will come alongside them to defend their right to live by their faith, in school and out of school," LaBarbera said. "Public schools must not become a place where secular ideologies and fads like celebrating 'youth homosexuality' are forced upon impressionable students."
The following is some more information on Lora Sue:Lora Sue Hauser has been active in Illinois school advocacy issues for 12 years. She has led grass roots efforts for elementary through high schools in the suburban areas. These efforts included challenging inappropriate materials, sex education curriculum, "gay" activist agendas, and First Amendment violations.
Hauser leads North Shore Student Advocacy, which is a help line for students and parents for First Amendment and moral violations in high schools and junior highs on the north shore. She has also been involved with ferreting out curricula in K-12 that has the clear goals of sexualizing children and normalizing homosexuality.
For the last two years, Lora Sue has led the Alliance Defense Fund's program of "Day of Truth" at Deerfield High School; a response to "Day of Silence" from the Gay Lesbian Straight Network. Day of Truth allows high school students to express an opposing view regarding homosexuality.
Lora Sue attributes her passion for advocacy to her background as a former special education teacher and the need to give a voice to those who have none. A lifelong resident of Illinois, Lora Sue is a full time homemaker and lives in Deerfield with her husband Grady and teen sons, Colson and Graham.

Is Illlinois Going to Be the Last State to Fully Protect Marriage? Help IFI Stop the ACLU and Pro-Homosexual Left from Sinking Our Marriage Referendum
As you read this, activists affiliated with the ACLU, Gay Liberation Network, NOW and People for the American Way are working overtime to block our Marriage Protection Referendum from getting on the ballot in November. Please help IFI make a legal defense of this critical grassroots initiative!
Our legal defense will cost tens of thousands of dollars, but it is necessary to help stop the highly-organized and well-financed "Fair Illinois" coalition that is desperate to stop Illinois voters from having the opportunity to vote "YES" for the Referendum!
We need and greatly appreciate your financial help. Some can give $1,000, others $500, $100 or even just $25 or $10. We appreciate anything you can do to help defend marriage in Illinois!
If you believe in keeping marriage from being radically redefined by the ACLU and its pro-homosexual allies, please send your most generous contribution to Illinois Family Institute today. We are supported by voluntary donations from individuals like you across the state of Illinois. Donations to IFI are tax deductible.
